DETAIL DESCRIPTION
I observed a women ditch her kids dirty diaper into the street outside her passenger door. Ive seen run-over diapers on the street before near Unity Park in Logan Square and could not believe I actually saw who might possibly have been doing this the whole time!
I knocked on the window and asked her to throw it away, and pointed toward a free public trash can that was 20 feet away. Her male partner then got out of the car and asked me what the problem was. I explained what happened, to which he replied, I didnt see that. I didnt see her do that. I told him it is still there (the diaper) and that it can still be thrown away. He then asked me if I owned the park. I replied, no. He then said, heres more trash, whatre you gunna do about it? I began to take out my phone, so he quickly went back into his car, backed up and sped off.
I snapped two photos of their car. One side photo shows a significant dent near the rear on the passenger side. The other photo is of the car leaving with a clear shot of their license plate and the trash they left. I used the cup he tossed in the street to scoop the diaper so that no one will run over it, and so it isnt eaten by rats.
What I really wanted to do as the car was leaving was throw that diaperball into their rear window like Wilson Contreras throwing out a runner trying to steal second base, but I snapped some photos and created this post instead. |
