The Indianapolis Motor Speedway will once again release 39,000 balloons - to pollute the US & beyond. For 69 years this wasteful & destructive activity has been tradition at the Indy 500. Although the Indy has been made aware of the ugly, deadly trash their balloons become, they selfishly choose to start their race by tossing the latex garbage out into the environment - where it will end up polluting land, lake & sea - risking harm to any animal that comes in contact with the flyaway trash.
This annual race creates over 500 tons of garbage, not including the couple hundred pounds of rubber they deliberate toss into the winds. In an effort to prevent hazardous litter from entering the environment & to help protect innocent animals, please join us in urging the Speedway, along with state & federal officials, to halt this willful mass littering. |
