Many many residents here seem to think that the drain hole at the center median at the Stop Light heading northbound toward Harpers Ferry in the left turn lane is for their public dumping. It is an embarrasment beyond words for us. Tourists and all residents who travel to and from Charles Town go through that light, and its constantly full of garbage, fast food bags, cups, soda bottles filled with urine, weeds, and a completely covered water drain hole cover with cigarette butts,cups, trash bags, bottles, cans, you name it, you can find it there. Please do something, and maybe post some large NO LITTERING SIGNS Closeby with a fine listed would help alot....Horrible. For some reason when people are sitting at that red to turn into the Patrick Hentry Way Walmart, they take it as a cue to empty their garbage and cigarette butts, beer cans, etc. from their vehicle... Everytime I travel westbound to headout to Walmart, and turn left onto Patrick Henry Way, I get a sick feeling in my stomach looking at that median. You cannot miss it. PLEASE HELP the residents here, and do something to clean this town up... Even shopping center parking lots in that area are full of trash also. Please oh Please...West Virginia is a beautiful state, but a visitor nor the residents would ever acknowledge this by visiting here...Horrible. Please investigate ASAP. I have never seen such a trashy place with public littering and a lack of caring. HELP US ANYWAY YOU CAN. Jefferson County is in West Virginia, but at times its hard to believe. Come see for youself...A mountain state..The eastern panhandle needs all the help it can get.Thank You so ever much..... |
