DETAIL DESCRIPTION Owner was fishing in the river behind his house, a tributary into Lake Simcoe. By mistake he cast his lure high into a tree and could not retrieve it. He cut off a bunch of line from his reel and with this bundle still attached to the lure he tugged until the line snapped THEN JUST TOSSED THE BALL OF LINE INTO THE RIVER! Obviously did not vote Green! We have all kinds of fish and a huge resident snapping turtle in this river plus water birds that rely on the river for food ... Not to mention the perch, lake trout, whitefish and other species in and on Lake Simcoe that might see this as food or get snagged in the nylon line. If you have ever seen a Loon caught up in fishing line, its heartbreaking. WHAT goes through the minds of Litter-Bugs, if anything?! |
